A Marion man will serve three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to a a felony charge of cyberstalking.
According to a news release from Williamson County State's Attorney Brandon Zanotti, Jonathan D. Carver, 32, pleaded guilty to the Class 4 felony charge Monday.
The release states Carver was arrested on the charge in November 2017 after the victim detailed several threats made by Carver, including at least two occasions in which he threatened the victim's life through text messages.
In addition to the three-year prison sentence, Carver will serve one year of mandatory supervised release and is also ordered to have no contact with the victim or the victim's residence.
