A Murphysboro man was charged by indictment with two counts of unlawful distribution of heroin and one count of unlawful distribution of cocaine, according to a news release from the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Donald S. Boyce.
The indictment alleges that the offenses by Dwayne L. Watson, aka C, 44, occurred in Jackson County on Oct. 27, Feb. 7, and March 6.
The release states Watson made his initial appearance on Monday in federal court, and was ordered held without bond pending a July 9 jury trial. The offenses each carry a maximum penalty of up to 20 years imprisonment, three years supervised release and a fine of $1 million.
