An Olive Branch man was sentenced to 15 years for meth and weapons charges.

According to a news release from Alexander County State’s Attorney E. Zachary Gowin’s office, Richard E. “Dickie” Hale, 57, of Olive Branch, was sentenced to 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on Thursday for multiple counts of methamphetamine possession and possession of a weapon by a felon.

The release said the conviction is part of an ongoing investigation of drug activity led by Alexander County Sheriff Timothy R. Brown, part of which culminated in August, when Brown and his deputies apprehended Hale at his home in Olive Branch.

In the release, Gowin said Brown and his deputies are to be commended for their ongoing investigative work.
