A Raleigh man was sentenced to a total of 34 years in prison Tuesday in Saline County Court, according to a press release from Saline County State's Attorney Jayson Clark.
Kevin A. Johnson, 42, was sentenced after he was found guilty of three counts of criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Johnson will be required to register as a sex offender for the term of his natural life.
On Feb. 8, 2016, Saline County State’s Attorney’s Office filed charges against Johnson arising out of a series of incidents in which it was alleged that Johnson committed acts of sexual penetration with a minor child. Based on investigation by Illinois State Police and an interview with the minor child, Johnson was charged with five separate incidents that occurred between Oct. 1, 2015, and Jan. 18, 2016.
