The Randolph County man acquitted for murder in April is back in custody, facing two felonies.

Beau A. Shawgo was arrested last week on multiple charges, including aggravated fleeing of police in excess of 21 mph, a Class 4 felony, as well as aggravated assault, a Class 3 felony.

According to Judici, Shawgo’s bond was set at $150,000. Rick Shawgo posted the required $1,500 for Beau Shawgo on Monday.

Shawgo was acquitted in April after a jury found him not guilty of manslaughter. Shawgo was charged with one count each of first-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter.

Shawgo was arrested in October of last year after being involved in a fistfight at the Hideaway Tavern in Percy with three individuals, including Jeffery Welty, 55, of Percy, who later died from his injuries after he was hit one time by Shawgo.

Shawgo is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 10 a.m. Nov. 13 in the Randolph County Courthouse in Chester.
