A Shawneetown man was charged Monday on multiple counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault of a child.

According to a news release from Hamilton County State’s Attorney Justin Hood, Rick R. Horton was arrested in Saline County on five counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X felony. 

The release states the alleged crimes were committed between 2006 and 2009 with three different victims.

If convicted, Horton could face six to 30 years per count in the Department of Corrections.

Horton will appear at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Hamilton County Court to be advised of his charges. He is being held in Saline County on $500,000 bond.

The release also states that Horton also has six pending predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim greater than 13 years old charges in Saline County.
