EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say an autopsy is planned on a Southern Illinois University student found dead in her housing unit on the Edwardsville campus along with her unharmed 5-year-old son.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports that the body of Tifani Wilder was found Thursday. Officers responded to a call from the mother of the 24-year-old woman's boyfriend to check on Wilder's well-being. Campus police say the death doesn't appear suspicious, and that there was no sign anyone forced their way into the apartment.

Wilder was a junior majoring in psychology.

The university's housing staff was caring for the boy on Friday until state child-welfare workers or a relative could take custody.
