A Vergennes man will serve five years in prison after he burglarized a shed in De Soto earlier this year.

According to a news release from Jackson County State's Attorney Michael C. Carr, Ronald J. Hunter, 28, pleaded guilty to the charge of burglary following a May 20 incident in which Hunter and another person burglarized a shed on Douglas Street in De Soto.

Hunter was sentenced to serve five years in Illinois Department of Corrections, following by two years of mandatory supervised release.
