The West City Police Department is asking the public to be alert and on the lookout for three inmates who escaped a bus while in transit in Southern Illinois, according to a news release from Police Chief Scott Choisser.

The release states that at about 5:15 p.m. Friday, the department was notified by a private inmate transportation company that three inmates had escaped their bus. The company advised that it was their belief the inmates escaped their custody during one of their routine stops, which included the West City McDonald's parking lot at about 1:25 p.m.

According to the release, all three suspects are reported to be wearing casual attire, and are Charles L. Kelly, a 21-year-old white male, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 140 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair; Randall W. Napier, a 33-year-old white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 130 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair; and Alonzo D. Young, a 24-year-old black male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 140 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
