A Red Bud man was killed Saturday as a result of a stabbing, according to a post on Randolph County Sheriff’s Office's Facebook page.

At about 10:59 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a call of a white male at Red Bud Regional Hospital who had suffered a stab wound. The man was identified as Adam Sesto, 36. He was pronounced dead before midnight.

As the result of an investigation, a suspect was taken into custody early Sunday morning by Waterloo Police Department. The suspect is a 22-year-old white male and was being held at Randolph County Jail on Monday.

Authorities say due to the fact no charges have been filed as of Monday, the name of the suspect has not been released. The suspect has been placed on a 48-hour investigatory hold.

An autopsy of Sesto’s body was scheduled for Sunday.
