A medical emergency caused an Elkville man to crash his vehicle into a house Monday morning and ultimately claimed his life, police said.

Roger Killingsworth, 48, was heading east on Pease Street in Elkville at about 11:12 a.m. Monday, when his medical condition caused him to veer off the road and into a residence in the 100 block of North 7th Street.

The collision caused minor damage to the home, police said.

Emergency personnel took Killingsworth to Marshall Browning Hospital in

Du Quoin, where he was later pronounced dead.
