Williamson County will be hosting its annual “Free Dump Day” from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the county highway department facility.

Organizers this year are also allowing people to bring in electronics for recycling. The county is partnering with CWI/Southern Illinois Regional Landfill, Midwest Waste, Burris Disposal, and Vintage Recycling to make the event possible.

It is open only to residents of Williamson County, not commercial businesses. Items that won’t be accepted Saturday are paint/chemicals, yard waste and tires.

The highway department facility is just north of Illinois 13 along Illinois 37.

If they were really concerned about public safety, public health, & the environment - they would take tires.
