CARBONDALE - Jason Plummer, the Republican candidate for the 12th Congressional District, has scheduled a town hall to take the place of a canceled Congressional debate later this month.

The town hall will take place at 6:30 p.m. June 15 at Holiday Inn in Carbondale. A debate between Plummer and Brad Harriman was scheduled to take place that night at the WSIU-TV studios, but it was canceled after Harriman dropped out of the race last week because of a nonlife-threatening neurological condition.

Plummer said he encourages people of all political parties and beliefs to attend the forum.
