CARBONDALE — Beulah Rushing Guard, a native of Carbondale, passed away Friday, Nov. 24, in Regency Nursing Home in Springfield.
She was born Dec. 18, 1921.
She was married to George Guard and he preceded her in death. He was buried in Equality where she will also be buried.
She was proceeded in death by her two sisters, Vaurda Rushing of Champaign, and Jerry Travelstead of Springfield.
Beulah’s long-term employment was at the Selmer-Peerless Professional Laundry in Carbondale, where she was the manager for more than 30 years. She was a member of First Methodist Church in Carbondale.
There will be a brief graveside memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 in Elmwood Cemetery in Equality. The pastor leading her service will be the Rev. John Annable.
