MARION — Carolyn Marie Myers, 69, passed away at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at her home.
Carolyn was born Feb. 17, 1948, in Marion, the daughter of Jackson Albert and Wahneta (Miller) Jordan. She married Larry Myers in Morrisville, Indiana on Aug. 28, 1966, and together they shared more than 51 years of marriage.
She was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church, and had worked as a waitress and cashier. Carolyn loved to cook, bake and can the vegetables she and Larry grew themselves. She enjoyed reading, growing flowers despite her luck of killing them and she loved going to rummage sales. Carolyn was a strong and courageous woman who will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Myers of Marion; son, David L. Myers (Jeri) of Marion; daughter, Angela Nicole Griffith of Marion; granddaughter, Alivia Piper Marie Griffith of Marion; two stepgrandchildren, Danielle Barnett of Alabama, and Dakota Nicks of Alabama; three brothers, Jack Jordan Jr. of Marion, Steve Jordan of Herrin, Mark Jordan of Herrin; and cousin, Phillip Miller of Christopher; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill Jordan.
services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, in Lone Oak Baptist Church in Energy, with the Rev. Jerry Schell, Rev. Gilbert Craig and Pastor David Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant - Poordo cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service Monday at the church.
Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
