DU QUOIN — Cody Leon Crispin was born April 26, 1993. Cody freed himself from oppression and crossed over into the spirit world at 9:33 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2017.

He had a kind heart and a beautiful smile. He was known for his crazy antics. Some would lovingly refer to him as “gangsta.” He stood up for those he cared about and he had a scar on his head to prove it. One Love. He enjoyed fishing and enjoyed spending time with his Grandpa George at his pond.

Cody is survived by his parents, Monica Hantz (nee George) and Charles Leon Crispin; stepmom, Melissa Hantz; maternal grandparents, Gary Dean George and Sherry (Wayer) George; maternal great-grandparents, Clarence and Helen Wayer; paternal grandmother, Patsy (Poe) Crispin; brothers, Phillip George, Ezekiel Hantz, Deshaun Crispin and Kelvin Penson; aunts, Alicia George, Tammy Leehy and Coreana Dowdell; uncles, Michael Buen, Thomas Leehy, Charles G Crispin Jr., and Norman Melvin; nieces, Jamie McKee, Chloe McKee and Kalena Penson; nephews, Dante Buen, Hunter Leehy, Memphis Leehy and Kenton Leehy; special cousins, Michael McMahan, David Gaytan and Tayler Gaytan; special support person, Dameon Cole; and many loving family members and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Charles G. Crispin Sr.; paternal great-grandparents, Charles E. and Margie Poe, Charles G. Crispin Sr. and Ida Mae Crispin; maternal great-grandparents, Glenna (Breeze) Rea and Billy Dean George; great-aunt, Kelly Jeannette Rea; sister  in love, ShyDia Robison; and many other family members.

Cody’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial celebration of life service will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in Derby Community Hall, 214 High St., in Du Quoin.
