COULTERVILLE — Evelyn M. Kelley, 92, passed away at 10:57 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, in Sparta Community Hospital.
Evelyn was born Dec. 12, 1924, in Tilden, a daughter to Henry and Kate (Heiman) Wilson.
On April 30, 1945, she married John Preston Kelley in Sparta, and he preceded her in death Aug. 20, 1988.
Evelyn was a plant manager for Intuitions Women’s Sports Wear in Sparta, and retired in 1987.
She was a member of Coulterville Methodist Church for 40 years and in that time she served on their board, a 70-year member of Eastern Star, Sparta; a longtime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Coulterville; and she was elected and served for 20 years on the Coulterville Public Library Board.
She loved traveling and supporting the Randolph County Humane Society.
Survivors include her son, James “Jamie” Kelley of Sparta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Ardell Wilson, Wilbert Wilson and Norman Wilson; and two sisters, Velma Krauss and Pauline Winter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, in Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, with Pastor Kimberly Allen officiating. Interment will be in Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Eastern Star services will be at 7 p.m. today.
