MARION — JoEllen (Kuykendall) McCollough, 57, of Louisville, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 5, 2017, while surrounded by her family.
She was born Aug. 13, 1960, in Marion, to J.B. and Evelyn (Pate) Kuykendall.
She obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana University Southeast. JoEllen taught English at IU Southeast and served as a professional writing consultant at the Writing Center.
JoEllen was a godly woman who spent many hours studying the Bible and in prayer. She was a member of Evangel World Prayer Center. JoEllen enjoyed traveling the U.S and abroad with her husband. She lovingly gave of her time to raising her family and serving the church. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family whom she greatly adored.
JoEllen will be greatly missed and her memory will remain forever in the hearts of her husband of 36 years, Kent McCollough; her four daughters, Emily (Chris) Eastman, Melissa (Matt) Butner, Abigail (Schyler) McNeil, and Molly (Richie) Quick; her parents, J.B. and Evelyn (Pate) Kuykendall; her brother, Jerry (Linda) Kuykendall; and her three sisters, Jane (Ken) Anderson, Barbara (Jeff) Kuykendall-Woodfield, and her twin sister, Jennifer (Phil) Kubow. She will also be greatly missed by seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Services for JoEllen will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in Evangel World Prayer Conference Center, 6900 Billtown Road, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 10, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
