ANNA — Maurice Ginsburg, 80, of Anna, formerly of Makanda, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, in the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Anna.
He was born March 1, 1937, in Hayti, Missouri, the son of Harry and Lucille (Deming) Ginsburg.
Maurice is survived by his two sons, Dr. Gregg Ginsburg of Festus, Missouri, and Nicholas Ginsburg of Carbondale; four grandchildren, Hannah Kennedy, Holden, Hallie and Hayden Ginsburg; two brothers, Charles Ginsburg of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Bernard Ginsburg of Greenville, Kentucky; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Maurice served his country in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962.
He was retired from Choate Mental Health Center after working many years as a social worker.
Maurice loved to play golf and pool.
Services for Mr. Maurice Ginsburg will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, in Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden, with the Rev. Paul Tirey officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honor Team of Marion. Visitation will be from noon until the service hour at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veteran’s Home Activity Fund. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
