MARION — Nick Davis, 85, passed away on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at his home.
Nick was born on Aug. 7, 1932, in Eldorado, to Joe and Lenore (Smith) Davis.
He married Pauline Taliana in 1983.
Nick attended Mount Vernon Township High School where he was the president of the class of 1951. He participated in all sports and was later inducted into the Hall of Fame. Nick served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He worked as a carpenter and retired from Nevada Test Site. Nick enjoyed life and people and loved the St. Louis Cardinals.
Survivors include wife, Pauline Davis; daughters, Angela and Bo Hash, Pamela and Tim Davis, Julie Coffman and partner, Judy; grandchildren, AdriaAnn, Matthew, Nick, Brittaney, Kylee, Chelsey, Sam; great-grandchildren, Adriana, Peyton, Taysom, Taggert; sister, Calleen Briner; brother, Gene Davis; great-nephew, Joe Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. John Hackman officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Marion VFW with assistance from the National Guard. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois or First United Methodist Church and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home, 1704 N. Court, Marion, IL 62959.
