ANNA — Thomas Walter Peeler, 88, of Peoria, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, in OSF St. Francis in Peoria.
He was born Aug. 26, 1929, in Anna, to Thomas and Roxy Peeler. He lived most of his life in Peoria.
Tom was a legendary high school football coach. He finished his coaching career in 1984 at Richwoods High School, winning the State 5-A championship and completing an undefeated and untied season. He received many honors and awards including induction into the Tri-County Area Hall of Fame and Coach of the Year on numerous occasions. He loved his wife, Mary Ann, and is happy to finally be reunited with her in heaven. He was very proud of his sons, Tom, David, Jeff and Greg, who all had the “pleasure” of playing for him.
