THOMPSONVILLE — Tim Cooksey, 55, passed away at 12:32 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, in Macedonia.
He was born March 11, 1962, in Marion, to Jimmie and Janis (Simpson) Cooksey.
He married Lisa (Teal) Cooksey.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Cooksey of Thompsonville; mother, Janis Simpson of Thompsonville; two children, Andrew (Lacey) Cooksey of Thompsonville and Amanda Cooksey of Thompsonville; four stepchildren, Erica Maple of Christopher, Brad (Melanie) Maple of Marion, Nick Fowler of Benton and Sierra Fowler of West Frankfort; 14 grandchildren; one brother, Chris Cooksey of Raleigh and a special friend, Jamie Smothers.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie.
Tim loved his family, he was deeply involved in racing and loved chasing his dream in the oil business. He was the owner and operator of Tim Cooksey Oil and was a member of the West Frankfort Moose Lodge and the Benton Elks.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, in Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with Tom Simpson officiating. Burial will be in the Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Night’s Shield Children’s Shelter in West Frankfort and will be accepted at the funeral home.
