CARBONDALE - The School of Art and Design at Southern Illinois University Carbondale has plenty of ideas for the people on your Christmas list who have everything already.

They - whoever they are - won't have the original art that is available at upcoming sales events, guaranteed. Why? Well, it's original artwork, and original artwork is a great gift for others or for one-self.

Here are some upcoming School of Art and Design sales events:

 Graduate Association of Painters and Printmakers, 4:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2: GAPP presents an open studio and mini-print preview sale in the Glove Factory (432 S. Washington Ave.), in room 202, upstairs. Take a peek at the studio space and buy some art made there. If you can't make it, look for the GAPP at the Holiday Craft Sale Dec. 3 and 4 at the Student Center.

 Southern Clayworks Holiday Pottery Preview Sale, 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec 2: Get a sneak-peek at the Holiday Pottery Sale during a preview sale in the ceramics studio in Pulliam Hall Industrial Wing. You can find the studio by coming into the breezeway between Wham and Pulliam.

 Southern Clayworks Holiday Pottery Sale, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3: Those who miss the preview may attend the sale in the ceramics studio.

 Southern Glass Works Holiday Sale, 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, and Thursday, Dec. 3: The Glass House (1002 W. Whitney Ave.) hosts this annual holiday sale, featuring glass ornaments and much more from Southern Glass Works. All proceeds go to the School of Art and Design match of the Windgate Foundation Challenge Grant.

 Art Over Easy 5, 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4: Art Over Easy is more than just an art auction. It is an art gala. This year, the event will take place in the Surplus Gallery at the Glove Factory and feature live and silent auctions presenting art from faculty members, students and alumni of the School of Art and Design, as well as art donated by artists in the community.

Refreshments, music and a festive atmosphere round out this sale to make it an evening celebration, as well as a great place to purchase art and help aspiring artists present and future. Art Over Easy is also one of the major fundraisers for the School of Art and Design.
