ELIZABETHTOWN -- Little information was being released Thursday regarding the death of Tim Dillard, the Elizabethtown fire chief who died earlier this week.

Hardin County Coroner Jessica Cullum said an autopsy for Dillard, 45, was scheduled for Thursday afternoon but that results would not be available for another few weeks.

Dillard was found dead in his home Tuesday night.

Cullum said he lived alone but would not say who found his body. Nor would she comment on any evidence that might suggest how Dillard died.

The death is under investigation by Illinois State Police and the Hardin County Sheriff. Neither agency returned calls. Village President Bertis Cook and a village trustee declined to comment.
