PINCKNEYVILLE — The Rend Lake College Murphy-Wall Pinckneyville Campus will celebrate 10 years of serving area students with an open house from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23.
The event will include tours and door prizes, stadium cups while supplies last, and staff will be on hand to answer questions. “We have a beautiful facility and we are so fortunate to have this campus in our community,” said Campus Coordinator Heather Bauersachs. “It provides so many opportunities for our students.”
The partnership between Pinckneyville and Rend Lake College has worked for the benefit of the community since fall 2002. The campus has served approximately 4,542 students and has generated 20,495 credit hours.
The Pinckneyville campus project first became possible with the support of Murphy-Wall State Bank and Trust, an anonymous donor and State Senators Bill O’Daniel and David Luechtefeld.
The Murphy-Wall Pinckneyville Campus now offers students general education courses, community education opportunities, computer workshops, children’s camps, first aid and CPR training and specialized computer training requested by area businesses. It also provides dual-enrollment and dual-credit classes in which Pinckneyville Community High School students can earn college credit.
