JONESBORO — The trial of a Jonesboro woman charged in the death of a 4-year-old in Ware has been postponed until May.

Sacha Brown, 29, of Jonesboro, pleaded not guilty Jan. 11 to charges related to the death of Justin James Hepburn.

Brown’s attorney, Larry Karraker, asked for more time to prepare for trial. Another pretrial conference is set for March 14; the trial is now scheduled for May 14.

Brown was being held on $400,000 bail, but that was reduced to $250,000 last week by Judge William Thurston. Brown remained incarcerated Wednesday in Jackson County Jail.

Hepburn died Dec. 11 at Brown’s address. Brown is charged with first-degree murder, aggravated battery and concealment of homicidal death.

The charging document alleges Brown killed Hepburn by striking him in the head or causing his head to strike an object “with such force as to cause a skull fracture.”
