HERRIN - The annual Herrin Thanksgiving dinner will be Nov. 24 in the Herrin Civic Center. The free community meal will be served between

11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

"Every citizen of Herrin, every member of the neighboring communities and everyone else is invited to come and join in the fun," dinner coordinator Bart Mann said.

The traditional meal will include turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, yams, cranberry sauce, salad, breadsticks, cake, pies, ice cream and beverages.

Guests are invited to dance to the music of Donnie Falknor. A table will have coloring books and toys for children.

After dinner, guests are invited to stay and watch football and basketball on wide-screen TV sets.

Homebound residents in Herrin and Energy who are unable to attend the dinner can arrange a meal delivery by calling the Herrin City Clerk's office at 618-942-3175.
