WILLIAMSON COUNTY — The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency will hold a one day hazardous waste collection Saturday, May 13 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Aisin Manufacturing, 11000 Redco Drive, in Marion.
Acceptable wastes collected are: oil based paints, paint thinners, drain cleaners, used motor oil, herbicides, insecticides, lawn chemicals, fluorescent lamp bulbs, pesticides, antifreeze, old gasoline, hobby chemicals, pool chemicals, mercury, household batteries, cleaning products, aerosol paints and pesticides and old and outdated medicines and pharmaceuticals.
The IEPA will not collect: agricultural chemicals, propane tanks, business/commercial wastes, smoke detectors, explosives, farm machinery oil, fireworks, fire extinguishers, lead acid batteries, institutional wastes, controlled substances, sharps, needles and potentially infectious medical wastes, latex paints, tires or electronics.
