The Illinois Department of Natural Resources Office of Oil and Gas Resource Management last week received an application notice for high volume horizontal hydraulic fracturing permit from Wichita, Kansas-based Woolsey Operating Co. LLC, HVHHF, according to a news release.
The application has been assigned a review number of HVHHF-000001. The well to be known as Woodrow No. 1H-310408-193 is proposed to be permitted for the production of gas, located just north of Enfield in White County, Illinois.
According to the news release, a public comment period will be is in effect now until 5 p.m. June 27, during which time community members are invited to provide input and feedback about the proposed project.
Citizens wishing to enter a comment should mail correspondence to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Attention: Oil and Gas Regulatory Staff, 1 Natural Resources Way, Springfield, IL 62702, or email them at DNR.HFPublicComments@illinois.gov.
All comments must include the review number (HVHHF-000001) and be received by the Office of Oil and Gas Resource Management by 5 p.m. June 27 in order to be considered by the IDNR during the permit review process, the release said.
Additionally, any person having an interest that is or may be adversely affected, any government agency that is or may be affected, or the county board of a county to be affected under the proposed permit, may file a written request for a public hearing.
That request must be served by email or certified mail to all of the following parties: the hearing officer, the IDNR and the applicant. Those addresses are:

If public hearings are requested and granted, they will be held at the Enfield United Methodist Church Family Life Center, at the corner of West Main and South Jennette streets. The hearing would be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 5; if additional time is required, it would continue at 9 a.m. July 6 and continue until completed. Daniel P. Schuering would preside.
