Kudos to Fitzgerald

for his courage shown

To the Editor:

Gov. Rod Blagojevich deserves a special and noteworthy thank you from all U.S. voting citizens, which surprisingly includes my own personal thanks!

The "good" governor has on

numerous occasions left me wanting to send my opinions to the editorials concerning the obvious corruptive and total arrogant nature present to those nobodies like us whose comments meant nothing.

However, now that the "good" governor has been caught with his corruption-plagued and royally arrogant pants down, I am compelled to give you my opinion in hopes that maybe deaf ears will hear and blind eyes will see.

A man like Patrick Fitzgerald, U.S. attorney, is to be commended on his courage and dedication to defend the Constitution, regardless of consequences he may face with other corrupt politicians from Chicago or elsewhere. It takes guts to go after these "above the law" types of political thugs. Kudos to Mr. Fitzgerald!

All local, state and federal elected officials should be kept in check to the fullest extent. My challenge is for anyone of qualified status (like the status Patrick Fitzgerald has shown) to chime in and keep the ball rolling on a nationwide ban of all corrupted elected political thugs.

Hey, let's start with cleaning up in Illinois. The remainder of states and federal government just might catch on. What has happened to the trust in government? Hmm, I wonder!

In USA, we're still innocent until proven guilty

To the Editor:

I think that most of the people in Illinois, and the Illinois media, as well as some media in general, have forgotten where it is that we live. We live in the United States of America, where the Constitution states we are innocent until proven guilty.

That doesn't mean that what some

self-serving prosecutor says is true, and we should just hang everyone who is presumed guilty. We need to think about what we are doing and saying, think before we lose even more than we have already lost of our rights.

If the governor is guilty because Mr. Fitzgerald says so, then why do we need courts, investigators and lawyers - just ask Mr. Fitzgerald and then send them away.

I never thought I would defend Rod Blagojevich, but I suddenly realized that being dumb, or stupid, is not a crime. I am grateful for that!

We are in a mess in Illinois, because the people elected to serve the state have been serving themselves.

We have lost another pharmacy in Murphysboro because it is not getting paid by the state and can no longer carry the debt.

If state Rep. Mike Bost is truly interested in getting this state back on track, where is his outrage at the fact that we owe hundreds of millions of dollars to service providers? Where is his outrage at the state of roads, bridges and buildings in the state?

That's enough, I could go on, but I suspect you didn't want to hear this much.
