To the Editor:
The Second Amendment was written for all law abiding citizens. Its an amendment for the black man or woman in Chicago who knows police will not enter their neighborhood. It's for the LGBT person who feels threatened because of their lifestyle. It's for the mother at home alone while her husband is at work on the night shift. It's for the office worker who dreads walking through the parking lot in the darkness. It's for the elderly man or woman who falls prey to thugs because of their weakness.
The role of the police and government is to insure general domestic tranquility, not to protect us as individuals, that responsibility belongs to us. Do not let that right be taken away.
