To the Editor:
One of the great things about living in Carbondale is the competence of our local police force, and their willingness to go the extra mile. Last month, I received a call in the wee hours of the morning to let me know about some vandalism to the church. Officer Joe Wild had already apprehended the suspect, who was being held in custody. Last May, I realized that some property was missing from the church. A call to the Carbondale Police brought Officer Michael Bonali promptly to our door. He knows his beat well, and was able to call me back in little over an hour, asking me to come and identify the stolen property. He even arranged for someone to help move the large and heavy object back to the church.
We at St. Andrew's are grateful for such extraordinary service to the community. This Sunday we will honor all law enforcement officers with special prayers during our 10am worship service. Please join us in thanking all those who work to keep Carbondale safe and secure.
