To the Editor:

In addition to the justifiable causes for the removal of the statues in America which portray Confederate "heroes" during the War Between the States, e.g., regional factionalism, racial innuendo, civic disloyalty, perhaps a more clear and obvious argument for their removal is simply this: Had the Confederate States of America actually been victorious in that scourge, those statues erected in the states loyal to that, another nation would not now in any case exist in The United States of America as constituted.
