The Ewing Wild Horse and Burro Holding Facility at 22295 Sheep Farm Road in Franklin County held an adoption day Saturday. According to facility employee Dale Richardson there are currently 244 head of horses and burros at the facility. The horses and burros are taken from the wild from federal lands out west that is administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management. The lands out west are currently overpopulated with the horses and burros, so they try to reduce the populations by moving some of the animals to facilities like Ewing where they are made available for adoption.
