The Southern Illinois Miners fell to the Schaumburg Boomers 9-4 on Tuesday during a Frontier league baseball game in Schaumburg.
Winning pitcher Joe Hauser pitched five innings for the Boomers, while Billy Griffin who was the losing pitcher tossed four innings for the Miners.
Schaumburg scored three runs in both the second and eighth innings.
The Miners scored one run each in the second, third and fourth innings, but only managed to score one more time in the eighth.
Chance Shepard, Joe Dudek and Conor Sullivan all had one RBI each for the Miners. Schaumburg's Clint Hardy was 4-for-4 at bat with two RBIs for the Boomers.
The Miners and Boomers continue their series this morning at 11 a.m. Robby Rowland will get the start for Southern Illinois.
