In 1977 NAPA opened a distribution center in Mount Vernon, and on Oct. 3 of this year it celebrated its 42nd year in business.

Today the distribution center serves 180 NAPA stores and employs 85 people, 29 of whom have been with the company for 20 years or more. Two current employees, Marilyn Prosise and Peggy Vance, started working at the distribution center on opening day in 1977.

Earlier, on Sep. 26, the center hosted its employee appreciation week. NAPA-sponsored NHRA top fuel dragster driver Ron Capps made a visit for a Q&A session and meet and greet with employees.
