Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced that Franciene Sabens will serve on the Illinois Student Assistance Commission.
Sabens is a practicing school counselor at Carbondale Community High School, and has previously served the same role at Chester Community Unit School District 139.

Sabens was named Illinois 2014 High School Counselor of the Year and the 2016 ASCA SCOY State Representative for Illinois. She also co-authored the 2014 Developmental Counseling Model for Illinois Schools and was a contributor for the 2018 Developmental Counseling Model for Illinois Schools.
