Vienna has worked to fill the dual credit college-level mathematics teaching vacancy left by Jon Wilhelm. Following a long search, the board of education and administration have selected Mrs. Heather Rottmann to join the mathematics faculty at the high school. She earned her bachelors of science in mathematics from Murray State University and also holds a master’s degree of arts in teaching mathematics from Murray. Mrs. Rottmann is a native of Southern Illinois and resides in Massac County with her husband Darian and their children.
Over the last 20 years, Mrs. Rottmann has served as a mathematics instructor. During that time, she was at Paducah Tilghman as a high school math instructor, at Paducah Community College, Shawnee Community College, and West Kentucky Community and Technical College serving both as a mathematics professor and tutoring center coordinator.
“I am determined to help my students succeed by taking an active role in their education and overall high school experience through my interactions with them,” Rottmann shared.
“Vienna students have enjoyed college-level dual credit math offerings over the last several years and finding a quality instructor that meets all of the qualifications is not an easy task. Mrs. Rottmann not only meets these qualifications but is clearly a committed and caring instructor,” said Superintendent Joshua W. Stafford.
