Union County Hospital announced this past week a new service line, Senior Solutions, which will be located in the hospital at 517 N. Main St. in Anna.
Union County Hospital’s Senior Solutions is an intensive outpatient group therapy program designed to meet the unique needs of adults older than 65 struggling with symptoms of depression and anxiety often related to aging. Individuals may benefit from the Senior Solutions program if they are experiencing any of the following common indicators or triggers:
• Recently experienced a traumatic event.
• Lost a spouse or close family member.
• Loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities.
• Changes in appetite.
• Difficulty sleeping.
• Loss of energy.
• Feelings of sadness or grief lasting more than two weeks.
• Feelings of worthlessness or hopelessness.
After an individual assessment, participants meet up to three times per week in a supportive, encouraging group setting. The program staff includes a board-certified psychiatrist, licensed social workers, a registered nurse, and other professionals dedicated to the emotional well-being of the seniors in our community.
“Senior Solutions reaffirms our commitment to provide outstanding quality services for our aging population. Along with our recently announced “Senior Friendly” Emergency Room, we hope to prepare ourselves to meet the future healthcare needs of our community,” said Jim Farris, CEO of Union County Hospital.
