A simple way of refining processes in any business is a PDSA Cycle, says T.J. Cown, continuous improvement specialist with Southern Illinois Healthcare.
The cycle is designed for implementation and analysis of an innovation. The steps are:
Plan: Develop a plan to implement the change. Experts recommend small changes because they are more easily monitored.
Do: Try out the new process on a small scale. Make sure to gather data or monitor processes to grasp results of the hange.
Study: Make time to analyze the change and decide if modifications are needed
Act or Adjust: Put the change into practice or refine the process change and go back to Step 1.
