Pollinators: Through the Artist's Eye

Through the month of June, Carbondale Community Arts hosts the exhibit 'Pollinators: Through the Artist's Eye.'

Carbondale Community Arts is hosting several events through this month to commemorate June as Pollinator Month. The Shawnee Group Illinois Sierra Club is a co-sponsor of the events.

The exhibit hanging in Artspace 304 for the rest of this month is titled "Pollinators: Through the Artist's Eye." It's on display at the 304 W. Walnut St. gallery through this month; gallery hours are 12 to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and during public events at the gallery.

On Saturdays through this month, Artspace 304 will host art workshops and lectures on life cycles and habitats of pollinators. Here's the schedule of remaining events:

  • 1 to 2 p.m. June 15: Photographing pollinators workshop, hosted by James Osborn, coordinator of the Friends of Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge Photography Club and president of the Illinois Photography Club.
  • 1 to 2 p.m. June 22: Everything Bees, hosted by Sedonia Sipes, associated professor of plant biodiversity and conservation biology at Southern Illinois University.
