Visitors to the Surplus Gallery peruse Valentine's Day-themed art at Love at the Glove in 2011.

The Southern Illinois University student-run art show Love at the Glove is back this year, and organizers are seeking submissions to display at the Valentine's Day exhibition.

A news release from Critical Forum, the creative arts registered student organization that organizes the event, says "Love at the Glove is an annual exhibition dedicated to matters of the heart. This one-night event features art and performances by SIU students, faculty and the community reflecting the many ways love manifests."

The event is set for 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at the Surplus Gallery inside the Glove Factory Studio Arts Building, at 432 S. Washington St. in Carbondale. Admission is $5.

Critical Forum is seeking art submissions for the show, including 2D, 3D, installation and performance art. Students, faculty and community members who are not affiliated with the university are welcome to submit pieces. Entry is $5 per piece and includes admission to the event. Drop-off is from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12 at the Surplus Gallery. Email C4@LoveAtTheGlove.com for special arrangements and scheduling questions.

Donations for the Women's Center will also be accepted at the show, including unopened and unused canned or nonperishable food items, toiletries and hygiene products.
