A unique art installation is coming to Southern Illinois University.

"Head in the Clouds" is the work of the Sound Art and Practice Class at SIU. According to professor Jenny Johnson, "the installation blends music, soundscapes and dialogue to create a subjective, sonic representation of the four seasons."

The installation invites attendees to place their heads inside of cloud-like installations and focus on the sounds within, according to a news release from Johnson.

There will be a sound walk and a display that features pieces of sound walks.

An opening reception for the installation is 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, in SIU's Gallery 1101 inside the Communications Building, at 1101 Lincoln Drive. The installation runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. form Dec. 4 to 10.
