Alto Vineyards is celebrating 30 years in business with a three-day festival this weekend.
This Friday night is a formal dinner and wine pairing gala featuring a four-course catered meal and live jazz by The Jewels. Tickets are required. For more information, visit altovineyards.net/30th-anniversary-celebration.
Saturday there will be a CajunFest, with live music by King Juba and Creole Stomp, and Cajun food for sale and a professional fireworks show.
On Sunday, the winery will have a Customer Appreciation Day, with door deals and drink specials.
Admission is free on Saturday and Sunday.
The winery opened in 1988, and was integral in starting the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail and establishing the American Viticulture Area known as Shawnee Hills AVA.
Event coordinator Charles Walker says "... we're not only celebrating the last 30 years but toasting to the future of the local wine industry and we'd just love to say thank you to Southern Illinois."
