The winery opened in 1988, and was integral in starting the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail and establishing the American Viticulture Area known as Shawnee Hills AVA.

Event coordinator Charles Walker says "... we're not only celebrating the last 30 years but toasting to the future of the local wine industry and we'd just love to say thank you to Southern Illinois."
