Motorcycle racing set to return to Du Quoin State Fairgrounds this summer

Professional motorcycle racing is set to return to the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds this summer.

According to a news release from the state, motorcycle racing will return to the fairgrounds' "Magic Mile" on July 25 after a five-year hiatus. The event is called the RPM Promotions $50,000 Horsepower National. Professional racers and 18 of the fastest amateurs in the region will race, with speeds up to 140 mph, according to the release.

Presale tickets are $30 for adults and free for children younger than 17 with the purchase of an adult ticket. Tickets the day of the race will be $40 for adults and $10 for children younger than 17.
