Southeastern Illinois College's archery team will host a "zombie shoot" at the indoor archery center and the outdoor archery range.

Zombie targets will be set up for shooters, who must bring their own bows and arrows or crossbows. Trained archery students will guide groups of participants to shoot the zombies. The event allows shooting during the day or at night.

The event is from 2 to 9 p.m. Oct. 19 and 20.

Participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite zombie-hunter. Special effects will be added to "liven up the dead," according to a news release from SIC.

The cost is $15 per archer, plus an optional $5 "money shoot." The closest archer to the designated "kill zone" on the prize zombie will win half of the pot from the money shoot.

Proceeds benefit SIC Archery Team and SIC Foundation.
