The Cache River Wetlands Center is hosting a documentary film screening to focus on native plants and butterflies.

Two films will screen beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, at the Cache River State Natural Area.

The two short documentary films were made by Cindy and Kirby Pringle of Tuscola. They will be present to answer questions after the films.

"A Landscape for Life" encourages the planting of native prairie flowers for pollinators and grassland birds; it includes an interview with Chip Taylor, the founder of Monarch Watch. "Touched by a Butterfly" shows butterflies as symbols of hope and joy.

The Cache River Wetlands Center is at 8885 Illinois 37 South in Cypress.
