The Marion VA Medical Center honored the last wish of terminally ill Veteran patient, Walter Holderfield, Friday, Feb. 19. The wish of the Marion native was to ride on a motorcycle and feel the wind in his face one last time. Holderfield got his wish as a large number of motorcyclists joined him to form a procession led by a black Harley-Davidson with Holderfield riding on the back.
Holderfield was fitted in biker apparel and driven around the hospital by another Veteran bike enthusiast, Mike Harris.
Holderfield died Thursday, March 24, according to a news release from the Marion VA.
