Cobden High School has honored Bobbie Borgman, Josi Braden, Jacob Furlow, Melissa Juarez, Samantha Smith and Jenna Vanzandt for academics, character, leadership and service.
Borgman, 18, is an Illinois State Scholar and participated in the Advanced Honors Escrow.
She is senior class president and a varsity cheerleader and a member of Beta Club, Future Career and Community Leaders of America and drama.
The daughter of Robert and Theresa Borgman of Cobden, she plans to study nursing at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Braden, 17, is a member of National Honor Society, Future Farmers of America, FCCLA, Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Science Club.
The daughter of Charli & Maria Braden of Cobden, she plans to major in criminal justice at Shawnee Community College and Southern Illinois University.
Furlow, 18, is a Scholar Athlete, varsity letter winner and was junior class president. He is a member of Beta Club, FCA and the baseball and basketball teams.
The son of Rob and Cathy Furlow of Cobden, he plans to major in pastoral studies at Boyce College.
Juarez, 18, was on the high honor roll and is a member of Spanish club, FCCLA and art club.
The daughter of Eduardo and Rosalinda Juarez of Cobden, she plans to study early childhood education Shawnee Community College.
Smith, 17, is a Belmont Merit Scholar, Honors Escrow student and varsity letter winner. She is a member of National Honor Society, Beta Club, FCCLA, Varsity "It Girl" Intern, cheerleader and All Star Cheerleading.
The daughter of James and Melanie Smith of Cobden, she plans to major in business at Belmont University.
Vanzandt, 17, is an Illinois State Scholar and Rotary Student of the Quarter and placed first in English at WYSE competition. She is a member of Beta Club, math team and science club.
The daughter of Angi and Van Vanzandt of Alto Pass, she plans to attend SIUC.
Commencement will be at 7 p.m. May 13 in the high school gymnasium.
