Galatia High School has recognized Victoria Brown, Allison Downs, Michaela Hoots and Corissa Price for academic excellence.
Brown, 18, received the English, chemistry, and biology I and II awards. She is a member of student council, Future Business Leaders of America, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, FFA and Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering.
The daughter of Gary and Tammy Brown of Galatia she plans to study business administration at Southeastern Illinois College.
Downs, 18, received the history and FCA awards and achieved perfect attendance. She is a member of Beta Club, student council, FCCLA and FBLA.
The daughter of Derek and Rachel Downs of Galatia, she plans to major in accounting at Southeastern Illinois College.
Hoots, 18, received the lab science, math and art awards. She is a member of National Society of High School Scholars, Beta Club, student council and FBLA.
The daughter of Jerry and Sharon Wiseman of Galatia, she plans to study pre-medicine at Southern Illinois University.
Price, 18, achieved high honor roll. She is FFA chapter secretary, 4-H vice president and a member of FCCLA and Saline County Low Riders Saddle Club.
The daughter of Cullen and Chasidy Price of Thompsonville, she plans to study physical therapy at Southeastern Illinois College.
Commencement will be at 7 p.m. May 27 in the high school gymnasium. Valedictorian is Victoria Brown. Salutatorian is Allison Downs. Baccalaureate will be at 7 p.m. May 25 in the high school gym.
